For the seventh year, the Texas Art Education Association has named Frisco ISD a District of Distinction.
The Texas Art Education Association has named Frisco ISD a District of Distinction for the seventh consecutive year, again recognizing FISD’s exceptional visual arts instruction.
Over 1,200 districts and learning institutions in Texas were eligible to apply for this prestigious award, and FISD is among the top 1.3% programs that received recognition. Frisco ISD is one of only 16 districts in the entire state to have received this distinction all seven years the award has existed.
In 2024-25, Frisco ISD had 99 visual arts educators teaching 33,139 students enrolled in art programs.
"We’re so proud to be named a TAEA District of Distinction for the seventh year in a row.,” fine arts coordinator Rob Draper said. “Being among the finest visual arts programs in the state is something worth celebrating, and it shows how much we value the arts in our schools and community. That can be attributed to our intentional approach to visual art over many years, the high quality of instruction and the tremendous commitment to excellence from all of our stakeholders. This recognition really highlights the incredible work our art teachers and students are doing every day as a result of these factors."
TAEA is the leading advocate for the visual arts in the state. The organization has previously honored outstanding Frisco ISD visual art instructors for work in their classrooms and districts as well as recognizing the exceptional work of many individual Frisco ISD students.
Visual art students from Frisco excel through many TAEA-sponsored artistic contests such as VASE, Junior VASE and TEAM. In addition, Frisco ISD students engage in artistic field experiences, community service and community exhibitions, including an annual series of vertical art shows highlighting artists in each high school feeder pattern.
Congratulations to Frisco ISD visual arts teachers, who continue to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. Frisco ISD will be honored at an upcoming TAEA conference.
