Fowler Eighth Grade Team Wins National Pentathlon

An eighth grade team from Fowler Middle School won gold in the 2025 Pentathlon Online National Competition, topping other teams from across the U.S.! In the seventh grade competition, a Fowler team took second and Nelson team took third. In eighth grade individual placements, six of the nine awards went to Fowler students; in the seventh grade contest, Texas students took four of the nine individual awards — all from Frisco ISD. Congratulations to Frisco ISD Academic Pentathlon competitors and their coaches!

Frisco ISD Wins PGA Community Impact Award

The PGA of America has selected Frisco ISD for its 2025 PGA of America Community Impact Award in recognition of the District’s partnership with PGA. As founding partners of PGA Frisco, both the PGA of America and Frisco ISD remain committed to serving the community and creating opportunities for students to learn the sport of golf, volunteer at local events and learn about opportunities to work in golf. Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Todd Fouche accepted the award on Frisco ISD’s behalf during an event this month.

Theater Students Place at State UIL Theatrical Design

Congratulations to all Frisco ISD students who competed in the state UIL Theatrical Design Contest! Nine high schoolers qualified for the state contest, with six placing. As part of the competition, students were asked to design concepts around a specific work, which this year was Axoloris: The Musical by Sean Mendelson. Designers were told to select a theme and statement that would drive all design decisions.

Divyam Desai, a rising eighth grader at Hunt Middle School, is one of the top 10 finalists in the 2025 3M Young Scientist Challenge, competing for a grand prize of $25,000 and the chance to earn the title of "America's Top Young Scientist." Learn more about Divyam and his project.
