The District’s art programs will be well-represented at the state Visual Art Scholastic Event, with students sending 85 pieces.

The talented artists of Frisco ISD recently participated in the Visual Art Scholastic Event, with 85 pieces advancing to state.
Regional VASE, the state-qualifying round, drew thousands of entries from across North Texas, including 12 school districts. FISD had 734 entries competing, and 696 received the highest rating of 4. FISD’s 85 state qualifying pieces represent 47% of the total moving on to state from the regional competition. VASE, sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association, recognizes outstanding high school artwork.

“The work produced by these students is unbelievable and a testament to their hard work,” said Rob Draper, fine arts coordinator. “The district’s commitment to art education, from kindergarten through 12th grade, is on full display as these works present a cumulative effort by all of the art teachers here in Frisco ISD to grow artists.”
