FCCLA Students Advance to State Competition

Frisco ISD students in the Family Career Community Leaders of America saw huge success at the recent Region III Leadership Conference, advancing to the state contest this spring.

Sixty-five Centennial, Emerson and Wakeland high school FCCLA region participants qualified for state. The students are led by several accomplished advisers including Centennial’s Shirah Martinez, Emerson’s Katey De La Cruz and Rachel Oglesby, and Wakeland’s Laken Foster and Janna Whitehead.

FCCLA is one of several career and technical student organizations that Frisco ISD students can take part in, learning skills they can bring to competitions. In FCCLA, students develop creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and career preparation.

Congratulations to all students and their advisers as they celebrate their hard work and prepare for the next stage of the competition!
