A year after receiving Phase 1 approval, the District is proud to announce an additional 700 educators will receive a stipend through the state program.

Frisco ISD, the only neighboring district participating in Texas' Teacher Incentive Allotment, is proud to announce state approval of its Phase 2 application.

The Texas Education Agency’s authorization means that over 700 additional FISD teachers will receive a base state stipend ranging from $3,200-$12,700.

When Phase 1 was approved last spring, over 200 Frisco ISD educators earned stipends. With both phases approved, over 20% of Frisco ISD's teachers have received a TIA designation.

While Phase 1 focused on core subjects that were tested with STAAR, Phase 2 added educators in a variety of courses not tested with STAAR, and in career and technology and fine arts, making Frisco ISD unique in its approach.

Frisco ISD has been working since 2019 to get this additional funding for teachers. The state stipend is intended as a pathway for teachers to earn higher salaries, to attract and keep effective educators and to provide incentives to teach at the most challenging campuses.

“This expansion of our TIA program recognizes even more of Frisco ISD’s hard-working educators, putting cash in their pockets,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip. “We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication. This is just the beginning as we hope to recognize more of our outstanding teachers in the years to come.”

To receive a designation, a teacher must be identified as a top-performing teacher per the standards provided by the TEA. There are three designation levels: Recognized, Exemplary and Master. The stipend amount varies based on the designation level and five additional indicators.

Phase 3 courses are currently in data capture. Frisco ISD will learn if those courses are approved in spring 2026.
