Frisco ISD Orchestras Earn Top Honors at UIL Contests

Frisco ISD orchestra students recently competed in the UIL Region 24 Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation, earning numerous “Sweepstakes” and “Superior” awards.

After months of preparation, FISD’s orchestra programs showcased their talent at the annual event. The students’ dedication, along with the guidance and support of their directors, led to these incredible achievements.

For the concert evaluation, each orchestra performed three pieces in front of three judges. For the sight-reading evaluation, orchestras learned a new piece of music on-site to perform in front of three different judges. Each portion is evaluated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest recognition of “Superior.” Orchestras receiving the Superior rating in both portions of the contest receive the honored “Sweepstakes” recognition.
