Frisco ISD Students Win Big at State Academic Decathlon

Over 50 Frisco ISD high school students showcased their excellence and dedication at the  Texas Academic Decathlon Contest, earning medals, honors and scholarships in the medium schools division.

Lebanon Trail High School finished second among medium schools at the San Antonio meet, earning a trip to the national competition — one of only five Texas teams to advance, and a first for a Frisco ISD school. Every team member also received a $1,250 scholarship for earning second place.

AcDec provides high school students with an opportunity to experience the challenges of rigorous academic competition through participation in team activities. Each team participated in interviews, an essay, speeches and written comprehensive exams on a variety of topics including music, art, literature, math, economics, social science and science.

Congratulations to these students and their coaches on their achievements in the state AcDec competition!
