When Frisco ISD teams begin district play, it’s not surprising that some people assume that all Frisco ISD high schools are in the same athletic district. But the 12 FISD high schools are actually in three athletic districts – as created by the University Interscholastic League (UIL) – and the districts vary in each sport.
Yes, it can get a bit confusing.
The UIL, which is the governing body for public-school athletics in Texas, realigns its districts every two years to take into account the enrollment changes in schools and also new schools opening. In February, the UIL unveiled its districts for the next two years, covering the current 2026-27 school year and the 2027-28 school years.
So here’s a snapshot of the Frisco ISD districts for fall sports:
