The Rogers Elementary House System Explained
The house system at Rogers Elementary is one of a kind. The structure is designed to foster a sense of belonging for every student and increase opportunities for deeper connections between students and staff members on campus.
In FISD, our mission is to know every child by name & need. The Rogers house system is in alignment with this mision and personalized to our campus identity and student needs. Our campus vision to work together to ensure continuous growth for all is brought to life through our house structures!
Every house offers a dynamic of three different grade levels. The goal is to provide students with a mentor/mentee experience with a buddy class in the same house. In just a few short weeks we will host our first House Time and your child will be paid with a buddy in the same house. They will work together this semester to execute our campus mission to KNOW, INSPIRE, and SERVE EACH OTHER EVERY DAY (about once per month during House Time).
By the time your student graduates from Rogers, we hope that we have instilled these four pillars of character as foundational values for them to carry with them for a lifetime:
Respect
Honor
Courage
Wisdom
What is House Time?
The students and staff at Rogers Elementary come together about once per month on a Friday morning for a pep rally like experience that fosters house spirit and pride in their house community. Students sit together as a house during our House Time pep rally and are then dismissed to gather with their assigned buddy class. Each buddy group is in the same house and participates in a brief activity connected to our campus mission to KNOW, INSPIRE, and SERVE EACH OTHER EVERY DAY. Students may participate in activities such as partner reading, problem-solving activities, or service projects. As students grow and mature, they have the opportunity to be a mentor (role model) to their younger buddies.
How to Show Your House Spirit
Every Friday at Rogers Elementary we wear our house colors. The PTA provides every student with a t-shirt in their house color. Students also wear these t-shirts on field trips. Students are encouraged to accessorize in their house colors with plenty of flair and festivities. The house with the most house sprit (wearing colors, singing their house chant, and bringing lots of energy during House Time) wins the Spirit Stick!
What are House Points?
When students exemplify our campus-wide expectations in common spaces, they are awarded individual points and points for their house. Students are motivated to accrue these points to shop as individuals at the PBIS school store each month. House points are recognized during each House Time and whatever house has earned the most points spines the prize wheel. At the end of the fall and spring semesters, the house with the most points will win the House Cup: an esteemed honor and privilege for the house with the most points. The reigning house champ with the house cup is Honor House (Spring 23-24),

Doing what you believe to be right and being confident that you've done what is right is in alignment with our school-wide expectations to "take care of yourself, take care of others, and take care of this place." If you are a person of honor, you are respected because someone recognizes you for your achievements and way you conduct yourself. All About Courage House
Being a learner involves taking risks and being brave on a daily basis no matter what our age. Embracing challenges and developing a growth mindset at an early age sets our students up for future success. Creating a learning environment where students can embrace challenges and persevere through obstacles by using problem-solving strategies is a priority among our teachers and staff. At Rogers Elementary we reinforce and encourage students to reflect, build on struggles, failures and successes through student goal setting conference and ongoing support/encouragement. Showing COURAGE is in alignment with the Frisco ISD Future Ready Learner profile.
All About Wisdom House
Our young learners build their confidence and wisdom daily. Rogers students set goals based on their individual passions, interests, and strengths which can transform them into wise contributors to society. Our students are encouraged to articulate ideas in a variety of ways, identify real-world problems, and develop creative solutions. Our goal as educators to inspire our students and provide experiences where they can gain knowledge, use good judgement, and grow wiser by the day!
