Two of Frisco ISD’s incredible color guard directors were recently honored by the North Texas Colorguard Association: Lone Star’s Justin Madrid was named 2026 Choreographer of the Year, while Independence’s Taylor Tucker was named 2026 Director of the Year! In addition to his work at Lone Star, Madrid provides choreography for numerous marching bands and color guards across the country. Tucker, who is in her 13th year as a color guard director, also contributes choreography and winter guard drill design to several programs throughout the state. She was selected from a pool of approximately 200 color guard directors across North Texas. Congratulations, Ms. Tucker and Mr. Madrid!
