Staff, students, parents and community members selected to serve on District committees for the 2026-27 school year were notified this week following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular September meeting. Each committee is part of the larger District Advisory Council, which provides feedback to the Board on District initiatives, goals, programs and compliance-related matters. The District is grateful for everyone who volunteered their time and interest to serve.
Calendar Committee: As work begins on the 2027-28 instructional calendar, Frisco ISD is first soliciting stakeholder feedback to guide the District’s calendar committee. The 2027-28 Instructional Calendar Survey is open Sept. 17-Oct. 2. Access the survey.
Bond Planning Committee: FISD is exploring a possible spring 2027 bond, starting with formation of a Bond Planning Committee. Applications are open through Friday, Sept. 25. Apply online.
The teachers are Carroll work HARD! It takes creativity, patience, flexibility, problem-solving, and about 100 different decisions before lunchtime. Carroll teachers show up every day ready to do what matters most—support our students.

Applications are open now for FISD Insight, a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes look at Frisco ISD operations. Members of each FISD Insight class come away with a complete understanding of the District, from academics and fine arts to transportation and technology and more. They will hear from department leaders as well as current Frisco ISD students, and have a chance to ask questions. Classes, which are held once or twice a month, will be hosted at various District facilities.
Membership: Applicants must live within Frisco ISD boundaries, and must not be prior participants. Only one adult per household.
Cost: $20, collected at the first class
Carroll teachers celebrated one another at our first staff meeting this year.
The Frisco ISD Book Bus wrapped up a busy summer schedule this month, bringing literacy fun to every corner of the District starting just days after its June completion. To give a sense of the impact, the Library and Technology Services Department shared a few impressive numbers:
1,322 - Books given away to children
100 - Miles traveled to book bus stops
14 - Stops made this summer

The Frisco ISD School Board is eager to hear from staff, students and community members, and there are a number of ways to share your feedback with Trustees. One method is by signing up to speak at Community Input Meetings, now scheduled for the 2026-27 school year:
Oct. 5, 2026 - 6:30 p.m.
Nov. 30, 2026 - 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 22, 2027 - 6:30 p.m.
April 26, 2027 - 6:30 p.m.
Meetings are held at the Frisco ISD Administration Building, and visitors should enter through the front doors.

In partnership with the Frisco Police Department and with student safety at the forefront, the District's Student Code of Conduct has been updated to align with the City's e-scooter policy.

Hi! My name is Rita Rivera, and I am excited to be joining the Special Education team this year!
Many of you may already know me from my years at Carroll as a 4th-grade bilingual teacher and tutor. I have 18 years of experience in education and am passionate about helping students grow and succeed.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets. My son, Ivan, is 27 years old and is a middle school teacher. My daughter, Ana Sofia, is 23 and will be getting married next year! Our family also includes one dog, Kanelo, and four cats who keep life interesting and fun.
Carroll has always felt like home to me, and I truly missed being here full-time. I am thrilled to be back!
I look forward to partnering with students, families, and colleagues to help every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally. It is a privilege to be part of each student's learning journey, and I am excited for a wonderful school year ahead!

Cuando no estoy en la escuela, disfruto pasar tiempo con mi familia y mis mascotas. Mi hijo, Iván, tiene 27 años y es maestro de secundaria. Mi hija, Ana Sofía, tiene 23 años y ¡se casará el próximo año! Nuestra familia también incluye a nuestro perro, Kanelo, y cuatro gatos que mantienen nuestra vida divertida e interesante.

Hello Carroll family! I am absolutely thrilled to be joining you this year. I bring 18 wonderful years of teaching experience from Garland ISD, and I am so happy to now call Frisco my home after moving here this summer! Family is everything to me—I have two amazing boys: Adan, who is currently thriving at UNT, and Alex, who is about to start his own new adventure at Cobb Middle School. I can't wait to get to know all of the incredible students and families here at Carroll. Let’s make it a fantastic year together!
