Staff, students, parents and community members selected to serve on District committees for the 2026-27 school year were notified this week following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular September meeting. Each committee is part of the larger District Advisory Council, which provides feedback to the Board on District initiatives, goals, programs and compliance-related matters. The District is grateful for everyone who volunteered their time and interest to serve.
Calendar Committee: As work begins on the 2027-28 instructional calendar, Frisco ISD is first soliciting stakeholder feedback to guide the District’s calendar committee. The 2027-28 Instructional Calendar Survey is open Sept. 17-Oct. 2. Access the survey.
Bond Planning Committee: FISD is exploring a possible spring 2027 bond, starting with formation of a Bond Planning Committee. Applications are open through Friday, Sept. 25. Apply online.

September 16 & 18: Celebrate the independence of Mexico and Chile, respectively.
October 12: Encompasses Día de la Raza (Columbus Day), recognizing the multicultural heritage of Hispanic communities.
The month honors the cultures, contributions, and histories of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
