Summer is typically a busy time for campus updates across Frisco ISD, though as projects paid for with 2018 bond funds are completed, the list of remaining work shrinks, too.

The 2018 voter-approved bond program was originally intended to support growth and infrastructure needs through the 2024-25 school year. Due to the failure of the proposed 2024 bond program, the Board of Trustees and district leadership reprioritized existing funds to stretch the 2018 bond dollars further.

This summer is one of the last that the 2018 bond funds will be able to be used for campus work. While routine and emergency maintenance occurs year-round through the District's operating budget, bond funds provide critical support for larger renovations and facility upgrades that help extend the life of school buildings.

As FISD schools age, keeping up with minor renovations ensures the District provides an optimal learning environment for students. By 2027, 35 schools will be at least 20 years old. Just five years later, by 2032, another 19 campuses will have hit the 20-year mark.

Some campuses will be closed for renovations, and their phones will be transferred to their temporary campus.
