Three Frisco ISD campuses celebrated AVID Day on Sept. 18 with dress-up days, activities and motivational messages. The program, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is offered to seventh and eighth graders at Hunt, and students at Frisco and Memorial high schools. Learn more.
Frisco High School expanded AVID Day to a full week with daily announcements about AVID, team-building exercises and calls to action, like: “Today, think about one challenge you're facing and ask yourself: ‘What is one thing I can do today to move forward?’” The week culminated in volunteer work, where Frisco and Hunt students made sandwiches with Tango Charities Feed the Country.
At Hunt Middle School, AVID Day was combined with College, Career, and Future Ready Week, creating a weeklong experience. On AVID Day itself, students signed their 2026-27 AVID Student Agreement, committing to challenge themselves with their schoolwork, stay organized and actively participate.
Memorial High School AVID students wore college T-shirts and held an ice cream social on AVID Day.
