This year, Coach Scho said yes to a greater role of supporting fellow teachers and students. As one of the new Department Chairs/Content Leads, she said yes to more responsibility. She has shown service to students and teammates through supporting subs as teammates have been out with illnesses and absences. It is no small feat to make sub plans day after day. She has also given her time to teach classes, and grade extra papers. She has shown the qualities of a Knight for years, and it is shining through again this year even brighter. Personally, I am so thankful she returned back HIME and supports our students and staff so much to make this a better place for all involved.

Mrs. Reichard is a kind, genuine, compassionate soul who consistently supports her students in their academic and extracurricular endeavors. She leads with a powerful sense of calmness that benefits her students and colleagues alike. When I am around her, she listens openly and always makes me feel comfortable—a sentiment I have heard echoed by her students. She has been a friend to the band program for many years, and we are grateful for her continued service and positive influence on our campus!

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), launched in October 2004, continues to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity across our Nation and helps ensure that individuals, families, schools, and communities have resources they need to be safer and more secure online. One of the things that makes Ms. Parks so special is her ability to create an engaging and welcoming environment for students. Her amazing dance moves and enthusiasm help build community, encourage participation and make even the busiest days more enjoyable. She has a unique gift for bringing people together and making every student feel valued.

She invests countless hours helping students improve, prepping for performances and ensuring the program continues to thrive. Staff, students, parents and community members selected to serve on District committees for the 2026-27 school year were notified this week following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular September meeting. Each committee is part of the larger District Advisory Council, which provides feedback to the Board on District initiatives, goals, programs and compliance-related matters. The District is grateful for everyone who volunteered their time and interest to serve.
Calendar Committee: As work begins on the 2027-28 instructional calendar, Frisco ISD is first soliciting stakeholder feedback to guide the District’s calendar committee. The 2027-28 Instructional Calendar Survey is open Sept. 17-Oct. 2. Access the survey.
Bond Planning Committee: FISD is exploring a possible spring 2027 bond, starting with formation of a Bond Planning Committee. Applications are open through Friday, Sept. 25. Apply online.

The Frisco ISD Cattle Show Team had an outstanding showing at the Labor Day Blowout Show, hosted by Allen FFA. All Cattle Show Team competitors represented Frisco ISD with skill and hard work, and their success is a reflection of the time, dedication and commitment they put into raising and exhibiting their livestock. Three Frisco ISD schools were recognized at the August School Board meeting for their generous donations to Frisco Family Services! Over 43,000 pounds of food representing over 36,000 meals were donated across all Frisco ISD campuses last school year, with Wakeland High School (7,050 pounds), Isbell Elementary School (2,095 pounds) and McSpedden Elementary School (1,834 pounds) as the top donors.
Current Frisco ISD students and recent graduates marched drum corps this summer, using skills developed in Frisco ISD band programs in auditions and on the competition field.

Six Frisco ISD students in May earned the Girl Scouts Gold Award, the organization’s highest recognition. Congratulations to Maggie Cooley (Independence), Ishika Grandhi (Independence), Aleena Sohani (Lebanon Trail), Kensli Espadron (Lone Star), Ruhi Ladwa (Reedy) and Eshal Muhammad (Frisco).
The Frisco ISD Book Bus wrapped up a busy summer schedule this month, bringing literacy fun to every corner of the District starting just days after its June completion. To give a sense of the impact, the Library and Technology Services Department shared a few impressive numbers:
1,322 - Books given away to children
100 - Miles traveled to book bus stops
14 - Stops made this summer
The Book Bus is gearing up for fall and will be ready to roll out an updated schedule soon. To find out when and where they will be, visit the Frisco ISD Book Bus webpage and follow along on Facebook and Instagram.
The Frisco ISD School Board is eager to hear from staff, students and community members, and there are a number of ways to share your feedback with Trustees. One method is by signing up to speak at Community Input Meetings, now scheduled for the 2026-27 school year:
Oct. 5, 2026 - 6:30 p.m.
Nov. 30, 2026 - 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 22, 2027 - 6:30 p.m.
April 26, 2027 - 6:30 p.m.
Meetings are held at the Frisco ISD Administration Building, and visitors should enter through the front doors.

Five Frisco ISD students have completed membership in Education in Action’s 2025-26 Lone Star Leadership Academy Alumni Council. After attending a summer Lone Star Leadership Academy, these students were invited to join the Alumni Council to continue developing their leadership skills throughout the school year. In addition to completing leadership skill-building lessons, each student identified a need within his or her school or community and designed and led a service project involving at least two other participants.
