Frisco ISD middle schoolers submitted their best pieces for this spring’s Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event, coming away with top ratings and platinum medals.

FISD middle school artists joined other students from across Region 10 in the regional Junior VASE assessment. As part of the evaluation, students were asked to write essay-style answers to a series of questions about their original artwork and be interviewed by a judge. 

Frisco ISD submitted 408 entries to this year’s Junior VASE, with an impressive 345 earning the highest rating of 4. Fifty-six of those top-rated pieces were awarded Platinum medals — an increase of 27% over last year!

This success is due to the dedicated efforts of art teachers across Frisco ISD middle schools, whose comprehensive, relevant instruction is evident as students progress and learn throughout the year.
