Frisco ISD elementary students enjoy a well-rounded fine arts experience in weekly art and music classes, learning skills that are foundational to their future fine arts classes and success.

This year, that success included an impressive showing at the regional Texas Elementary Art Meet, an annual evaluation of elementary art.

For TEAM, elementary art teachers submit a selection of student works to be evaluated. Of the 202 Frisco ISD submissions at April’s Region 10 competition, an incredible 171 earned the top rating.

Of those top-rated pieces, 18 were named “Top of TEAM,” recognizing the best 10% of all submissions statewide for their grade level.

The annual TEAM competitions provide a standards-based assessment for elementary art students. Using the quality and standards of the Visual Art Scholastic Event as a model, TEAM has been designed to accommodate the needs and learning styles of elementary students. TEAM is sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association.

Congratulations to these students and their teachers for their Top of TEAM recognition!
