Please join us in welcoming Rachel LeForce to the Phillips Elementary family as our new Assistant Principal Intern! Rachel grew up in Oklahoma and moved to North Texas in 2020. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) and her master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, along with her Principal Certification through Lamar University. Rachel brings a unique perspective to education, having taught for two years at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Steve! Her favorite quote, “Education is the key that unlocks the golden door to freedom.” — George Washington Carver, reflects her belief in the power of education. We’re excited to have Rachel join the Phillips family and look forward to all she will bring to our campus this year!

Our first Phillips Flower Cart delivery of the year! Flower Cart is so much more than just delivering flowers to our incredible staff. Through this special program, our students build communication skills, practice following directions, and learn how to complete a job from beginning to end. Applications are open now for FISD Insight, a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes look at Frisco ISD operations. Members of each FISD Insight class come away with a complete understanding of the District, from academics and fine arts to transportation and technology and more. They will hear from department leaders as well as current Frisco ISD students, and have a chance to ask questions. Classes, which are held once or twice a month, will be hosted at various District facilities.

The Frisco ISD Book Bus wrapped up a busy summer schedule this month, bringing literacy fun to every corner of the District starting just days after its June completion. To give a sense of the impact, the Library and Technology Services Department shared a few impressive numbers:

  • 1,322 - Books given away to children

  • 100 - Miles traveled to book bus stops

  • 14 - Stops made this summer


The Book Bus is gearing up for fall and will be ready to roll out an updated schedule soon. To find out when and where they will be, visit the Frisco ISD Book Bus webpage and follow along on Facebook and Instagram.

The Book Bus' first-ever stop was at Frisco Commons Park in June.

The Frisco ISD School Board is eager to hear from staff, students and community members, and there are a number of ways to share your feedback with Trustees. One method is by signing up to speak at Community Input Meetings, now scheduled for the 2026-27 school year:

  • Oct. 5, 2026 - 6:30 p.m.

  • Nov. 30, 2026 - 6:30 p.m.

  • Feb. 22, 2027 - 6:30 p.m.

  • April 26, 2027 - 6:30 p.m.

Meetings are held at the Frisco ISD Administration Building, and visitors should enter through the front doors.


Can’t be there? A recording will be available after the meeting, and Trustees also take written questions starting a week beforehand on the Community Input Meetings webpage.

Please join us in welcoming Katrina Leslie to the Phillips Elementary family as our new 4th Grade Teacher! Originally from Fairview, Texas, Katrina earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her graduate degree from Boston University. She has a unique background, having attended elementary school in Australia, and she enjoys expressing her creativity through quilting and always having a new project in the works. Originally from Southern California, Jamie has called Texas home for the past 35 years and proudly considers herself a Texan. She attended Grayson County College and brings a passion for caring for others to our campus. Outside of work, Jamie loves to travel and hike and has visited 27 National Parks! One of her greatest adventures was completing the 500-mile Camino de Santiago across Spain. Her favorite quote, “Happiness is not something ready made. Please join us in welcoming Ryan Moore to the Phillips Elementary family as our new Resource Teacher! Ryan brings 23 years of experience in education and a passion for helping students succeed through special education. Originally from northwest Oklahoma, he earned two degrees from Northeastern State University, where he was also a member of two National Championship football teams. After serving as a Special Education Specialist, Ryan is excited to return to the classroom and work directly with students. Fun fact—his wife is a teacher at Phillips, and both of their daughters will be students here this year, making this a true family affair! Another unique fact: Ryan spent four years working in a Level I Trauma Emergency Room before returning to education. His favorite quote, "I never lose. I win or learn." — Nelson Mandela, reflects his positive outlook and growth mindset. We're thrilled to have Ryan join the Phillips family and can't wait for the impact he'll make this year!
