Today our grade-level teams surprised our first "You've Been Spotted" students! Each team of teachers surprised 3-4 students with a prize cart for being kind to others around them. Stay tuned for a post next week on who our spotted students were. BIG THANKS for our team leaders for putting this together. 🐾
Staff, students, parents and community members selected to serve on District committees for the 2026-27 school year were notified this week following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular September meeting. Each committee is part of the larger District Advisory Council, which provides feedback to the Board on District initiatives, goals, programs and compliance-related matters. The District is grateful for everyone who volunteered their time and interest to serve.
Calendar Committee: As work begins on the 2027-28 instructional calendar, Frisco ISD is first soliciting stakeholder feedback to guide the District’s calendar committee. The 2027-28 Instructional Calendar Survey is open Sept. 17-Oct. 2. Access the survey.
Bond Planning Committee: FISD is exploring a possible spring 2027 bond, starting with formation of a Bond Planning Committee. Applications are open through Friday, Sept. 25. Apply online.
Goal: Increase Student Engagement to support students' growth and mastery of concepts. Teachers have been working hard creating engaging lessons for our students to promote their growth in academics and social development. Students are working on soft skills such as discussion, eye contact, and sharing their ideas coherently.

👀Digital Graphics & Animation students in Mr. Spiller's classes learning how to shade in Photoshop.

8th grade scientists got a refresher today of balanced and unbalanced forces with a game of tug-o-war. If the force was unbalanced they had ti decide who would change sides to make it balanced. ⚖️

We are committed to our campus goal of more student engagement and less Chromebook use. Students around the building are engaged in various cooperative strategies to increase thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Wildcat Wednesday on a Thursday....why not? Our 7th graders and teachers had a BLAST at our first Wildcat Wednesday of the year! Big thanks to our teachers for hosting our kiddos for some fun.
Our first Staff Starfish recipients of the year. Staff members pass on the starfish to someone who has made a difference in their lives. Congrats to these wonderful Wester Staff! ⭐️
7th graders....ARE YOU READY for Wildcat Wednesday? This year though, it is on a Thursday. We know, that's weird, but hey, you still get to have a blast with your friends and teachers on Thursday, September 17th from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. Come play games, sports, sing, hangout, and eat all the snacks you can buy. Make sure to bring CASH - small bills only! See you there.
College & Career Readiness Week is coming soon! Student Ambassadors have come up with fun dress up/spirit days for the week and are giving everyone enough time to prep. So get those outfits ready for the Week of September 21-25! We cannot wait to see ALL our Wildcats participating.
